Interview with Turkey’s EU Affairs Minister

During an official visit to Brussels, Turkey’s EU Affairs Minister Volkan Bozkır told EurActiv in an exclusive interview on 12th November, 2014. He briefly said:

The EU should look at the forest where there are huge benefits. The trade between the EU and Turkey is over €150 billion. The EU relies on Turkey for its energy security. When fire is on the region, Turkey remains a stable country. Turkey is hosting 2 million Syrian refugees and spent $4.5 billion to make them comfortable. If Turkey hadn’t done this, they would be running or swimming to the EU countries, Bozkır argued.
